Workshops
Since 2007 we have run a successful programme of workshops around the world for NGOs, Governments and vets covering TNR techniques.
Our decision to run these workshops was prompted by a lack of similar resource elsewhere - the nearest we could find was taking place in overseas locations but only open to British students. As well as this, concern that international conferences are often only accessible to a small minority, we decided to take the training to the trainees.
Our workshops have to date taken place in Granada (Spain), Porto, istanbul, Budapest, Kaunas & Vilnius (Lithuania), Cyprus, Malta, Taipei (Taiwan).
Successes included:
Motivated by our workshop, local vets in Taipei neuter 300 ferals in a month for local NGOsInspired by the workshop, Bakirkoy municipality in Istanbul agrees to promote cat cafes and cat care signs and run TNRAs a direct result of our workshop and the work of PIFAS, Kaunas municipality agrees to allow TNR in the cityIn Porto, the workshop prompts NGOs to sign terms of reference to support joint neutering programmes with municipal vets.In Malta, the workshop brings together groups working with cats on the island, to feed more effectively into the Malta Government neutering programme with a renewed impetus.
